HAPPY SIZE FASHION

Hi dolls,

This past week I had two interviews with two different magazines. The questions that were asked  gave me a reality check, I really had to dig deep into my emotions that I had banned for a long time. We all know that weight is just a number on our scale and that your happiness should not depend on that number. But what if your not there yet? What if your not happy with your body and at this very moment that number does matter?

I’ve been through that struggle also and sometimes I still am. I’ve gained a lot of weight since my lung embolism because I couldn’t exercise the way I used to. Flying to all these tropical destination didn’t make me feel any better these past few days. I ‘m confronted with my body that doesn’t feel like my body at this very moment. Although I’m in a very happy state of mind, this is a feeling I really can’t explain. I just have to get back to that happy body state of mind again.

Those of us who’ve ever been “thin” as a result of any form of unnatural body manipulation know that thin doesn’t automatically equals happiness.

So this is me reminding myself and all of you that your happiness isn’t connected to a number on the scale it’s about how you feel on the inside. Sometimes it’s hard and I want you to know that I also struggle with that little voice in my head.

Commercials and magazines are selling us lies about thinness being the magical answer to all of our problems: vacations are more enjoyable when you’re thin, being thin allows you to wear amazing clothes, being thin gets you your dream body or man….

Once in a while the doubt also comes to me and I need to remind myself that happiness is not my weight, it’s not the size of my dress, happiness comes from within.

Am I a happy size?

At this very moment I am. I wear my size with pride. This is my body and my goal is to fall in love with everything that I am.

Outfit

Today I’m showing you a perfect spring attire. Spring reminds me of new beginnings and gathering with friends and family to celebrate Easter. You might have seen this blouse before (here) , it’s one of my favorite wardrobe pieces. I’m combining it with a metallic pleated skirt and red accessories to keep my look edgy and fun.
